Black History Month at the IC Library

Read, Listen, Enjoy, Explore, View, Think

This February, the Ithaca College Library invites you to become more engaged in Black History Month with a little help from the library. Skip the latest rom-com or superhero action film to watch a film that will put you in a different place. Try reading a book you haven't been assigned in class. Take advantage of the library's CD collection to get out of your usual rotation.

This guide provides only a small sampling of the thousands of resources that the library provides to help you explore the many different aspects of Black history and culture in America and the rest of the world. Included in each category are five works. Some are classic works, and most are outside the usual materials that are found on Black History lists. May you find them delightful or challenging, disturbing, surprising, or copacetic.
